Interview Process

1

Aptitude+Dsa

The first round was an online test that included a mix of aptitude and coding questions.

Aptitude Section: Covered basics like percentages, averages, probability, permutations & combinations, and logical reasoning (blood relations, directions, and statistics). I felt that the level was easy to moderate, and the concepts we usually learn in college were sufficient.

DSA Section: The coding part had easy to medium-level problems. For example, one of the questions was based on finding the second largest element in an array. While my set was straightforward, some of my friends got slightly tougher problems, so difficulty can vary. Preparation Tip: Focus on practicing arrays, strings, and problem-solving basics on platforms like LeetCode, GeeksforGeeks, and 30 Days of Code challenges.

✅ I cleared this round comfortably, and my basics really helped.

2

Group discussion

The second round was a Group Discussion (GD). But unlike a regular debate, this was more of a goal-oriented case study discussion.

Case Study: “How would you increase the footfall for an airline company?”

We were divided into a panel of 12 candidates.

Each of us had to contribute ideas about process improvements, customer experience, and innovative solutions.

What mattered the most was not just talking more but contributing structured, logical, and actionable points.

I found this round slightly tough because every candidate was well-prepared and skilled. The key was to stay calm, present clear points, and also acknowledge others’ suggestions.

✅ I managed to highlight practical solutions and customer-focused strategies, which helped me stand out.

3

Technical+HR interview

The final round was a combination of Technical and HR discussions.

Technical Questions:

Most of the discussion revolved around my resume and projects. I was asked why I chose certain tech stacks like MERN and Next.js, and how I implemented specific features. A few JavaScript-specific questions came up, such as callback hell and its solutions using Promises and async/await. Some questions were also about my internship experiences at WPS Internships and what I learned from them.

HR/Personality Questions:

Why Deloitte and why this role? How do you handle challenges in a team? What motivates you to work in ServiceNow as a platform? Future career aspirations.

Since I was well-prepared with my resume and had confidence in my projects, I was able to handle this round smoothly.

✅ The interviewer was friendly, and the discussion felt more like a conversation than an interrogation.

Detailed Experience & Tips

My interview process for the Deloitte Analyst – ServiceNow Internship was a great learning journey, spread across multiple stages that tested not just my technical skills but also my communication and problem-solving abilities.

It all began with an online assessment that included both aptitude and DSA questions. The aptitude part was quite standard, with topics like percentages, probability, PnC, blood relations, and basic statistics. I found it to be fairly manageable since the concepts taught during college were sufficient. The DSA section had easy-to-medium level problems , one of my questions was about finding the second largest element in an array. While my set felt comfortable, I heard that some of my peers faced slightly tougher problems, which shows that the difficulty can vary from candidate to candidate.

After clearing the test, I moved on to the Group Discussion (GD) round. This was different from a typical debate because it was goal-oriented and target-based. We were given a real-world problem statement related to airlines and asked to come up with strategies to increase their footfall. There were 12 of us in the discussion, and everyone had strong points to share, so the competition was intense. I focused on suggesting customer experience improvements, process optimization, and creative marketing strategies while also engaging with other participants’ ideas. What really mattered here was presenting structured points clearly and contributing to the discussion in a collaborative way rather than just speaking the most.

The final stage was the Technical + HR interview, which turned out to be the most engaging part of the process. The discussion was heavily centered around my resume and projects. I was asked to explain my work in detail, why I chose specific tech stacks like MERN and Next.js, and how I implemented certain features. The interviewer also asked some JavaScript-related questions, such as handling callback hell with Promises and async/await. Since I had internship experience, I was asked about my contributions during those roles and how they helped me grow as a developer. On the HR side, the questions were more about my motivation for joining Deloitte, teamwork, adaptability, and long-term goals. Overall, the interviewer was friendly, and the conversation felt more like a discussion than a strict evaluation, which helped me stay confident.

Looking back, I’d say the difficulty level of the process was medium. The key to cracking it was a mix of strong fundamentals in aptitude and DSA, good communication for the GD, and deep understanding of my own resume and projects. The entire process not only tested my knowledge but also helped me improve my confidence and articulation, which are equally important in professional interviews.
